This open-mouthed Eastern Bluebird and Two Babies carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. All subspecies of the Eastern Bluebird can be distinguished from the Western Bluebird by chestnut coloring on the throat and sides of neck and by its white, not grayish, belly and undertail.
