This 17-inch, life-sized Harris's Hawk carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. Harris's Hawk is chocolate brown overall, with chestnut shoulder patches, leggings, and wing linings. Other features include white at the base and tip of the long tail and rounded wing-tips. The juvenile is heavily streaked below and the chestnut shoulder patches are less distinct. Inhabits semi-arid woodland and brush land. Gregarious and sometimes hunts in small, cooperative groups.
