This Baltimore Oriole carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The adult male Baltimore Oriole has a black hood and back, bright-orange rump and underparts and large, orange patches on the tail. Adult females are brownish olive above and orange below, with varying amounts of black on the head and throat; those with maximum black resemble first-spring males.
