This Red-faced Warbler carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The adult Red-faced Warbler has a distinctive, red-and-black face pattern. The back and tail are gray with white rump and under-parts. Immatures are duller with a pinkish face. The song is a series of varied, ringing zweet notes. This warbler inhabits the high mountains and is generally found only above 6,000 feet. Nesting on the ground, it is fairly common, especially in Fir and Spruce mixed with Oaks.
