This Tropical Parula carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. Although similar in appearance to the Northern Parula, the Tropical Parula has a dark mask and lacks the distinct, white eye ring found on the Northern species. Also, the yellow of the throat extends farther onto the sides of the face and the male of the species has a more blended orange breast band.
