This Blue Jay carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. This crested jay has black barring and white patches on blue wings and tail. Also present is a black necklace on whitish underparts. Commonly found in suburbs, parks, and woodlands. Reference National Geographic Field Guide To The Birds of North America, Fifth Edition, Page 320
