This open-mouthed Eastern Meadowlark carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The Eastern Meadowlark has a distinctive, black "V-shaped" breast band on yellow underparts. The characteristic yellow does not reach submoustachial area on the females, and barely does so on the males.
