Rose-breasted Grosbeak
This Rose-breasted Grosbeak carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The Rose-breasted Grosbeak has a large size with a very, large triangular bill. the upper mandible is paler than that of the Black-headed Grosbeak. The breeding male has a rose-red breast, white under-parts, white wing bars and a white rump. The rose-red wing linings show in flight. The brown-tipped winter plumage is acquired before migrations.
