This Broad-tailed Hummingbird carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The male Broad-tailed Hummingbird has a rose-red throat. The female has a blended buff on the under-parts, similar to the female Calliope, but on the female Broad-tipped, the tail tip extends well past the primaries.
