This Common Yellowthroat Warbler carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The colors of both the male and female Common Yellowthroat Warbler are similar except for the broad, black mask across the forehead of the male which envelops the eyes. The upper-parts of both sexes are olive-gray to olive-brown and the throat, breast and under-tail coverts are bright yellow in the males and somewhat paler in the female. More often heard than seen, the song is a wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty, wich-i-ty.
