This Pine Warbler carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The Pine Warbler has a relatively large bill and long tail projection past under-tail coverts. The throat color extends onto the sides of the neck, setting off a dark cheek patch. The male is greenish-olive above, without streaking and has a yellow throat and breast with dark streaks on the sides of breast. The belly and under-tail coverts are white. The song is a twittering musical trill, varying in speed. Commonly found in pines in the summer and in mixed woodlands in the Winter.
