This open-mouthed Baby Blue Jay carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The most common of the Blue Jay's varied calls is a piercing jay jay jay. He also gives a musical weedle-eedle and mimics the call of the Red-shouldered Hawk. Reference National Geographic Field Guide To The Birds of North America, Fifth Edition, Page 320
