This Brown-headed Nuthatch carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The Brown-headed Nuthatch has a brown cap and dull buff underparts. A pale nape spot is visible at close range and a narrow dark eye line borders the Cap. The call is a repeated, double note like the squeak of a rubber duck. Fairly commonly found in pine woodlands.
