This Calliope Hummingbird carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The Calliope Hummingbird is the smallest bird in North America with a very short bill and tail. The primary tips extend well past the end of the tail. On the Adult male, carmine streaks on the throat form a V-shaped gorget.
