This Female Evening Grosbeak carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The female Evening Grosbeak differs from the male in that she is grayish-tan with a thin, dark malar stripe and had has a white-tipped tail. Also the female has a second wing patch, on the primaries, which is conspicuous in flight.
