This House Wren carving was hand-crafted from solid Basswood. The House Wren is brown above with a faint eyebrow. It can be distinguished from the Winter Wren by its longer tail, less prominent barring on the belly and larger overall size. The exuberant song is a cascade of bubbling, whistled notes. Commonly found in shrubs, farms, gardens and parks. Reference National Geographic Field Guide To The Birds of North America, Fifth Edition, Page 342
